Conference closing the cross-border MineLife project "Life with mining"

On Friday, October 25 this year in the Łagów Palace near Zgorzelec a conference was held closing the cross-border project MineLife "Life with mining", in which Polish and Saxon mining institutions were involved. About 70 people participated in it.
The MineLife project was implemented jointly by the Saxon State Mining Authority, the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodship and the State Mining Authority in Katowice together with the District Mining Office in Wrocław. The conference summarizing the project was attended by, among others, the president of the State Mining Authority in Katowice - Adam Mirek, the president of the Saxon Mining Office in Freiberg - Bernhard Cramer, deputy director of the Economy Department of the Marshal Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship - Tomasz Krzeszowiec and the director of the Regional Mining Office - Grzegorz Wowczuk .
The implementation of the project co-financed by the European Union enabled the exchange of information on the structure and organization of administrative bodies, their competences and procedures, as well as allowed to get acquainted with technologies and methods of operation used in surface mining and underground mining in border areas. In addition, experts examined the possibilities of mitigating and resolving conflicts occurring in areas where mining operations are conducted. The conference in Łagów allowed to summarize the effects achieved thanks to the MineLife project and to gain knowledge, including in topics such as:

"Challenges of the mining industry in relation to the raw materials needs of Poland, Europe, the world - today, tomorrow and ...",
"Innovation as a direction of mining industry development",
"Innovations generating development, i.e. intelligent and green mining in relation to the project entitled REMIX - smart and green EU mining regions ",
"Historic mining in Saxony",
"Restructuring of hard coal mining in the Wałbrzych Basin - history and future",
"Conflict resolution in mining - Polish and Saxon experiences in the MineLife project".

The event was attended by persons and institutions involved in mining and geological activities, representatives of local and industry administration, representatives of scientific and research communities as well as mining, processing and tourist enterprises associated with mining.
The MineLife project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the INTERREG Poland-Saxony Cooperation Program 2014-2020.
