Installation of a jubilee time capsule of the State Mining Authority
The final days of 2022 coincide with the completion of the centenary celebrations of the mining supervisory authorities in independent Poland. A commemorative time capsule ceremony was held on 22 December.
Signing of cooperation agreement with the Chief Inspector of Environmental Protection
On Wednesday, 14 December, an agreement was officially signed at the headquarters of the State Mining Authority (WUG) in Katowice between the WUG and the Chief Inspectorate of Environmental Protection (GIOŚ) on cooperation between the two entities within the scope of their respective competences and statutory tasks.
Ceremonial academy on the occasion of Barbórka of the mining supervision
On 29 November this year, the Miners' Supervision held its Barbórka celebrations in Katowice. It began with a Mass in the Church of St Apostles Peter and Paul, celebrated by Archbishop Wiktor Skworc, Metropolitan Archbishop of Katowice. During the mass, the new banner of the State Mining Authority, founded on the occasion of the Authority's centenary anniversary in June this year, was consecrated.
AdCo ATEX group meeting
The 33rd meeting of the ATEX AdCo group - the European working group for administrative cooperation in the area of Directive 2014/34/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres - was held in Brussels on 22-23 November.
Halina Krahelska Award for Zbigniew Rawicki
The Director of the Mining Department of the State Mining Authority Zbigniew Rawicki was honoured with the Halina Krahelska Award by the Chief Labour Inspector Katarzyna Łażewska-Hrycko. The award ceremony took place on 17 November in the Great Hall of the Royal Castle in Warsaw.

On Thursday, 27 October, the sixth meeting of the Committee for Investigating the Causes and Circumstances of the Strumming and Group Accident Occurring on 23 April 2022 at Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. was held at the headquarters of the State Mining Authority KWK "Borynia-Zofiówka" Ruch "Zofiówka" in Jastrzębie-Zdrój.
New statute for the State Mining Authority
An order of the Minister of State Assets on the granting of statutes to the State Mining Authority was promulgated in the Official Gazette of the Minister of State Assets on 7 October 2022. The order shall come into force on 19 October 2022.
26th Meeting of the Heads of European Mining Authorities
The 26th Meeting of the Heads of European Mining Authorities was held in Krotoszyce from September 25 to 28 this year, under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. The State Mining Authority, which organized the meeting, hosted the mining supervisory authorities of European countries in Poland for the fourth time.
