Declarations on cooperation

On 10 September 2008 Presidents of mining authorities from Czech Republic, German federal states of Brandenburg and Saxony, Slovak Republic and Republic of Poland signed declarations on cooperation.
The first declaration was signed Mr Ivo Pěgřímek – the President of the Czech Mining Authority, Mr Klaus Freitag – the President of the State Office for Mining, Geology and Minerals of Brandenburg, Mr Reinhard Schmidt – the President of the Saxons Mining Authority and Mr Piotr Buchwald – the President of the Polish State Mining Authority. This declaration states, that in order to enrich the experiences and thus to a more efficient functioning of mining authorities a crucial importance has the exchange of experiences including selected questions regarding work safety, management of mineral deposits and environmental protection in hard coal and brown coal mining plants.
The latter declaration was signed by Mr Peter Kúkelčík – the President of the Slovakian Main Mining Office – and the Mr Piotr Buchwald – the President of Polish State Mining Authority, who recognized that to enrich the experiences and thus to a more efficient functioning of mining authorities, a crucial importance has the exchange of experiences including selected questions regarding geological and mining activity as well as of legal regulations concerning the activity of mining supervision authorities.
