Conference on the future of post-mining areas
On 17 June, the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice hosted the conference 'The future of post-mining areas', which attracted nearly 200 participants. The State Mining Authority organised the event in cooperation with the Polish Geological Institute National - Research Institute and the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation of the Silesian University of Technology.

New statute and new department of the State Mining Authority
At the request of the President of the SMA, the Minister of Industry granted a new statute to the State Mining Authority as of 1 April 2025. With its entry into force, the SMA's organisational structure has changed. A new organisational unit is called the Department for the Supervision of Methane Emissions and the Management of Orogen.
‘Kinga’ and ‘Jadwiga’ started tunnelling in the Pisarzowa area
Two TBM machines will drill a railway tunnel in the Małopolska region. On 31 March, near Pisarzowa, in the Limanowa municipality, a ceremony was held to mark the start of construction of a tunnel on the Chabówka - Nowy Sącz railway line 104. The District Mining Office in Kraków supervises the underground drilling.
